What is the Math Olympiad Contest?

Mathematics Olympiad is aimed at raising interest in mathematics through team competitions and improving participant's mathematical skills. They exist at national and international level and are suitable for students from 4th graders to 12th graders. The most prestigious of these competitions is the International Mathematics Olympiad, high school students from over 100 countries participate each year.

The Math Olympiads program (moems.org) was founded in 1977 and focuses on the monthly competition centering on remote teams from the fourth to the eighth grade. Mathematical Olympic Games are usually used in elementary and junior high school math clubs. The program holds five games every month during the standard grade. Teachers and team leaders receive annual competitive solutions and other materials. Students and teams receive certificates, medals or trophies based on the results in each game.

The American Mathematical Society held the American Mathematics Olympiad (USAMO). This is a two-day national competition and more than 250 high school students are participating. Participants are invited to run according to AMC 12 Multiple Selection Exams at the American Mathematical Society. Students who won up to 12 points at USAMO will be invited to the Olympic Summer Program of the American Mathematical Society that lasts about a month. The six best performers in the program were invited to represent the United States at the International Mathematics Olympics

Founded in 1959, the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is a global competition for high school students representing more than 100 countries.
