Universities in the United States and Canada have many similarities. Many students can move between the two countries relatively easily, in terms of acquisition and use of the skills learned in one country, and excellent grades at universities in other countries. I have a high school diploma or after I got a bachelor's degree in that country, a lot of people going to college or going to another country to study at a graduate school (now and former students ) I know.
Admission to a university in Canada is generally predictable depending on performance. If the exam scores are high and the grades are high, admission to Canadian universities is not a big problem. You still need to apply, but the direct A of the high school will let you accept it soon. If you have bad scores and bad test scores, many top Canadian schools can not do at least before you take high scores of one or two years at some appropriate schools I guess.

The quality of Canadian universities is consistent over the quality of American schools. There are several small universities that are very good in Canada. However, compared to many US liberal arts colleges (LAC), these projects are few and not well understood. The term "literary academy" does not seem to be used in Canada.
Most Canadian universities teach in English (and of course American schools). However, some university French is the main language of instruction. One of them, the University of Montreal is one of the world's most ranked French universities. Some others are also very good. There are a number of bilingual universities officially in Canada.
The difference between a university and a university is very different in the United States and the UK, either. The Canadian university is similar to the American community college, but it is similar to the UK, France, Europe and the United Kingdom, including Australia and New Zealand. In contrast, Canadian universities are comparable to British universities and many other universities in English-speaking Franconian. In Canada, universities are usually for individuals seeking application carriers, but universities are for individuals seeking more academic careers.
