Paige Curson is a senior in chemistry and materials science, and in 2016 he moved from Moorpark College. Materials science is a field where new useful materials are discovered using chemistry and engineering. Once she moved to UCLA, she knew that she wanted to enter the research phase as she was hoping for a career in the materials science industry. Since we do not have much time to experiment in various laboratories, it is especially worthwhile to find and enter laboratories as transfer students. Most transfer students graduate within 2 years after transfer, so betting is expensive. Once you find a project, there is not much time to hone your skills and complete the project.
Material science is widely noticed by researchers. In most universities, many departments are involved in material research, from physics, chemistry to chemical engineering, material science. Material science research is dynamic including many methods. The list below is by no means exhaustive. It is merely intended to emphasize several important areas of research. Nanomaterial research uses nanotechnology methods based on material science to exploit advances in material measurement and synthesis. And it was developed to support micromachining research. Materials with nanoscale structures usually have unique optical, electronic or mechanical properties
Since material science encompasses a wide range of science, there is no average day. Material scientists are conducting basic research on the chemical properties of materials, developing new materials and improving the prescription of existing materials suitable for new applications. They are working with engineers and processing specialists, pilot plants, manufacturing plants. Material scientists say the current employment outlook is still optimistic, as the demand for new materials and improvements to existing materials are in progress. However, some of them warn that material science may be a victim of its own success. Since most of the technologies developed over the past decade has made great progress, future employment growth curves may tend to flatten out. In some fields of material science such as electronic products, employment growth tends to be flat.
