WHAT IS GOING ON

Political parties are an important institution of democracy. By participating in the elections, political parties can provide governor options to citizens, in the opposite case they can make the government accountable. When citizens participate in political parties, volunteer their time, donate to their leaders and vote, they are exercising their basic democratic rights. Citizen participation in political parties brings unique benefits such as opportunities to influence policy choices, opportunities to select and join political leaders, opportunities to run for office. However, in some countries, political parties do not respect citizens' participation rights and may not be held responsible to voters. NDI supports dynamic, responsible and comprehensive multi-party system development that provides meaningful options and opportunities for civic participation in political participation. Laboratory activities include the sharing of knowledge and resources aimed at increasing the participation of alienated groups, including women, youth, minorities and minorities, disabled people, gender and sexual minorities. NDI's support extends from the members of the grass-roots party to the mid-sized party, the government officials, and the leaders of the senior party and government, to the party organization. The institute is the only authorized position among the three major international party groups, Central Democratic Party International, Free International, and Socialist International. Through these networks, NDI facilitates peer-to-peer communication and consultation. The laboratory also promotes constructive engagement between parties and other agencies such as civil society, media and election management agencies.
