What is Ganesh Chaturthi? Why is it celebrated?

Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival dedicating Ganesha's birthday. He is the youngest child of Sheba and goddess Parbati.

Known for 108 different names, Ganesha is a master of art and science and a treasure trove of wisdom. Because he is considered the beginning of God, he is regarded as the beginning and ritual of the ceremony. He is widely and lovingly known as Ganapati or Vinayaka.
