What is a literature review?

Literature review is an information evaluation report on literature related to the research field you selected. The review should describe, summarize, evaluate and clarify these documents. It provides a theoretical foundation for research and helps you (the author) determine the nature of your research. You should give up those works that are not important and you should examine the works around them strictly.

Literature review is more than just information retrieval, not merely descriptive annotated bibliography. Every piece of work included in the review must be read, evaluated and analyzed. Relationships between documents must also be identified and explained in detail based on your research field.
