What is the hypothesis? Hypothesis (complex hypothesis) is a description of recommendations for observation. The definition depends on the theme. For example, in science, assumptions are part of the scientific approach. This is a prediction or explanation by experimental test. Observations and experiments may deny the scientific hypothesis, but do not prove it entirely

But in logical research, the hypothesis is an if-then proposition, usually written in the form "if X, then Y". Under normal use, this assumption is simply an explanation or a prediction that may or may not be tested.

Since it is easy to design experiments to determine whether there is a causal relationship between an independent variable and a dependent variable, most scientific assumptions are expressed in if-then format. This hypothesis is written as a prediction of experimental results.

Statistically, proving that there is no relationship between the two variables is easier than supporting those relationships. Therefore, scientists often make a zero hypothesis. The null hypothesis assumes that changing the independent variable does not affect the dependent variable

Instead, the alternative hypothesis suggests that changing the independent variable affects the dependent variable. Because there are many ways to explain different hypotheses, designing experiments to test this hypothesis may be difficult.

For example consider the possible relationship between good sleep and getting good grades. The null hypothesis states that "the number of hours students sleep is unrelated to their grades," or "there is no correlation between their sleeping hours and grades." Experiments validating this hypothesis include collecting data and recording the average sleeping time and performance of each student. If an 8 hour sleeping student is better than a student who usually takes 4 hours of sleep or 10 hours of sleep, that assumption may be rejected.

However, it is more difficult to devise and test different assumptions. This hypothesis is sometimes called "the score improves as you get more sleep" or "the score of a student who takes 9 hours of sleep." In the experiment, the same data can be collected, but the confidence limit is rarely increased by statistical analysis.

Normally scientists start using the null hypothesis. From there, it is possible to propose and test another hypothesis to narrow the relationship between the variables.

This is a good goal. However, this is not an assumption. The hypothesis is an explanation of what is happening in nature, from the inside of the earth to the inside of the kitchen. But science has more assumptions. This is a statement that through rigorous testing we can prove that we are truth or false. Strictly speaking, I mean measuring each of the factors one by one and measuring how each change affects the result.
