What do the lens parameter abbreviations mean? [duplicate]

EF = Elecronic Focus, this is the name of the Canon AF bracket. "II" indicates the second version of the lens

EF - S = APS - C Canon name of EF "short back focus" lens designed to satisfy the crop factor

EX = Sigma marketing terms, higher build level. DC indicates that the image circle only covers APS - C ("trimming").

The designated lens of AF - S = Nikon is not driven by the camera body, it has a focus adjustment mechanism on the lens. The mechanism is usually ultrasonic
