Many examples of racial discrimination are in the novel The Wind of Thunder. First, there are independent schools of white and black. The Jefferson Davis County School was named after the former federal president who only White participated; the Great School of Black School was homemade and threw away the material from the white school. Another example is John Henry Berry, the homicide and burning of a white night pedestrian 's black night male being accused of flirting with a white woman. At another time, when a white bus driver deliberately put Logan 's children in a muddy ditch, the white students shouted all their energy. From the bus window "Nigga! Nigga! Mud Eaters!"
Cassie's first visit to strawberry is not happy. She was angry that the black people had to use the worst place in the farmer's market. When she entered the barnett Mercantile store, the owner called her "a black man". Outside the shop, Mr. Sims of Caucasi pushed Cassie into a dusty way.
