WFP and the Zero Hunger Challenge

Zero hanger challenge is a worldwide call for action seeking to build support for the zero hanger vision. It was launched by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and invited the Government, the private sector, NGOs and the public to make every effort to realize the vision. It is based on a common idea that all can eliminate hunger in our lives.

WFP exists to eliminate hunger. Our mission is to cooperate with UN partners. In fact, our global efforts contribute to each of the five elements of the Zero Hunger Challenge. Looking at the four goals of our strategic plan, you can see how each goal helps to achieve a broad range of vision, zero hunger.

WFP plays a leading role in stunted growth and access to food - the first two factors. Our efforts to eliminate malnutrition are essential for the stunt zero vision. The school meal program and the food stamping program help poor people get food even during the crisis.

This is Mylande and her two-year-old son Michael. They live in Haiti. Mylande regularly visits health centers and is getting nutritious food for children from the World Food Program. What does Zero Hunger mean to you? Children who received school meals from the 22 World Food Program (WFP) answered this question through a picture submitted as part of the 2017 WFP Child Design Competition.
