West Middle Gifted Eighth Graders Participate in White House Decision Center

Recently, the eighth grade at Parkway West attended the White House Decision Center in Independent Truman Library, Missouri State. Because libraries are far from their home St. Louis, teenagers must catch up with charter cars at the beginning of Friday, November 8. "It is strange to come to school earlier than others," student Betsy Wait laughed in an interview. On the way, the students ate lunch and imitated the Truman library for about 4 hours.

During the academic day, the eighth graders participated in the instrument courses. Eighth grade students have experience with their instruments. The goal is to improve reading comprehension and skill through exercises in individuals and groups. Students should play harder music and play leadership roles in the 7th and 8th graders. Drama is the basic course of theater. During the course students are introduced, studied, practiced and participated in various aspects of the theater.
