Weapon Registration and Storage

Current teachers and students can register their weapons under personal information through Banweb. Enter the type of weapon, brand, model, serial number, and other weapon information. Once you have entered, you can choose to print the registration certificate or send by e-mail. You must be able to present this registration certificate when transporting weapons to public safety and police stations or to areas within the campus.

If you are not currently a faculty member of the Michigan University of Technology or a student, please use the Visitor Weapon Registration Website to provide your personal information, weapon information, and print certificate or email registration. Weapons must be physically registered on campus with the name of the person holding the weapon. You will be given a password to access your information in the future. You can edit or delete this information at any time by logging back in to the system. Every year, send an information update notification e-mail

Weapons, guns, ammunition can not be used in the dormitory, including equipment such as paintball and airsoft. Weapons can be stored in public safety or police station. Before bringing weapons to the public security police, please read the information in the slider below.

After filling out the above weapon registration form and obtaining registration certificate, please bring your weapons to the public security police at any time. Everyone who keeps the guns needs to make sure they are "safe" before handing the guns to officers or dispatchers. For the purpose of this process, the term "safe" means that if the weapon is unloaded and safe (if applicable) engaged and the lock or chamber block (or depending on the type of weapon) Place it in place to make it clearly visible. Weapons that do not meet this requirement are not accepted. If you have never purchased a trigger lock or you do not have the opportunity to purchase it, you can use it before purchasing yourself, after temporarily using the trigger lock at the Public Security Police Building. Currently we do not have a room at hand.

The Public Security Police Bureau reserves the right to refuse the return of any weapons if the person receiving the weapon is in the following situation.

The department thinks that the return of weapons may endanger someone's safety

Under the above circumstances weapons will be returned only if conditions for refusing return of weapons have been modified.

Your HuskyCard (or M number and valid photo ID) should check in or cancel registered weapons. The box will not be kept, but you need to check the gun.

Forced registration of weapons has no meaning at all. Ultimately, when you purchase weapons, both the buyer and the purchased weapon will be registered. What are the authors of these laws expecting? After passing by, those who have illegal weapons go to the nearest police station to register. In my opinion, the authors of these laws are bound by obvious innocence or infinite folly. Among the liberals, one of the most common ways to fight crime is to proclaim that there are no weapons in schools and public institutions (restaurants, cinemas, etc.). In these areas, there is no right to own weapons, not to mention using weapons. There is no crime as there are no weapons. This simple liberalism only makes crime easier. Liberals declare these areas and other areas as weapons free areas and tell the criminal where they can feel safe
