Water and Marine Resources

Introduction Water is one of the most important inorganic compounds in the world and brings important physical, biological and chemical effects. For many governments, the main challenge of the 21st century is how to reliably supply high quality freshwater. This chapter is divided into two sections. The first focuses on freshwater and the second focuses on saltwater. From a human point of view, such a classification is convenient, but different states of water are not limited by the definition of salt and freshwater, so it is irrelevant from the environmental point of view.

Natural resources sometimes called land consist of all gifts from nature. This includes minerals, water, cultivated land, vegetation, natural forests, marine resources, the atmosphere, sunlight, animal life and so on. They are fixed items. If us want more, their usability can not be increased. Some resources such as minerals can be used. Once minerals are used, they can not be replaced. Labor force - defined as the use of human spirit and physical strength in the production of goods and services, humans receive rewards in the form of income. The quality of the workforce depends on the size of the population and whether you can work. The quality of the labor force described by workers skills, knowledge and health is important.

Water is essential to human life and environmental health. As valuable natural resources, it includes the sea, estuary, freshwater (rivers and lakes) and coastal and inland groundwater environments. Water has two closely related dimensions: quantity and quality. Water quality is usually defined by its physical, chemical, biological and aesthetic (appearance and smell) characteristics. A healthy environment means that water quality supports diverse biomes and protects public health.
