Washington State Health Assessment

The Ministry of Health has collaborated with partners within and outside the healthcare and public health community to create a state health assessment to further promote strategic thinking to improve Washington's health. This document is an important resource for public health - providing data, identifying key health issues, convoking leaders across multiple divisions, coordinating prevention efforts, policy planning and communication with leaders We will develop a strategy to promote Washington's health. The community-wide community can use the state health assessment results for community health improvement planning and policy planning.

Beginning in 2006, Washington State has implemented new medical technology, diagnostic tests, diagnostic procedures, and a health care assessment program to evaluate drugs to determine its safety, clinical and cost effectiveness started. (82) If the device (such as an upright MRI scanner) is not considered to have substantial health benefits, the state health plan (including metered Medicaid programs) will not be covered. The Washington state program also uses DERP recommendations to determine selective drugs. (83) This decision was made by a group of health practitioners gathered from within the healthcare industry. (82) By establishing an objective team of externally unaffected practitioners, decisions can be made based on independent scientific evidence rather than political or other concerns. (84, 85)

To better promote Washington's strategic thinking for health promotion, the Ministry of Health has drafted a comprehensive health assessment to work with regional and tribal health, health care services, and public health community partners. The Washington State Health Assessment of 2018 is scheduled to invite general comments on January 23.
