Walter Payton

This is a general way of saying that life, death and taxation have only two things. But in the last 10 years or so of the National Football League there is another sure thing - when he qualifies in 1993, Walter Peyton is to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is exactly what happened in January 1993. A few months after suffering from a rare liver disease with primary sclerosing cholangitis, Peyton died of bile duct cancer at the age of 45 on November 1, 1999. Her legacy includes the Walter Payton Award, the Walter Payton Person of the Year Award, and a high level awareness of the need for organ donation. Payton is one of the three children born in Peter and Alyne Payton, Columbia, Mississippi. His father is a factory worker who has played semi-professional baseball. Peyton is an active member of Boy Scouts, Minor League, and the church in that area. At John J. Jefferson High School, Payton played drums in the band, joined the athletics team and sang at the school choir. Outside the school, I play drums with a jazz rock band.
