Voltaire's Use of Satire to Compare Europe and El Dorado

Voltaire used irony as a time of change, to compare Europe with Eldorado. Now is the time to explore logic and understanding, not religion to answer people's questions. Otherwise known as the age of enlightenment, the society seeks reason rather than finding all of the answers from the Catholic church and other beliefs. Voltaire's story Candide shows his view on enlightenment by taunting monarchs and monetary systems of small villages.

Clearly Candid proves the hypocrisy of religious groups and officials by exaggeration and irony. Voltaire compared even the corrupted religion of the old world with the simple and appreciated religion of the Eldorado aborigines. But Voltaire did not criticize the devout followers like Baptist. Instead, he began to clean up the flaws of European society through worthy means. Even today, his texts and papers are the apex of enlightenment and are considered to be a leading cause of the French Revolution.

Utopian society is a fictional political and social system in which relations between individuals and the state are fully coordinated. With novel Candide, Voltaire describes the hidden highest kingdom called El Dorado. Eldorado is expressed as "paradise of happiness". "This may be a country with no problem, because there must be such a place." (P.42) It is a sophisticated educational system and a beautiful palace. Because organized government, religion, equality, everyone is not harmoniously living, El Dorado is a utopia

Voltaire uses El Dorado as an example of how society should look without a corrupted religion. In Chapter 17, Candide and his servant Cacambo entered El Dorado. Among the religious people Candide met through the story, he thought they were corrupt and sexually immoral, even though he swore they were chaste. Eldorado is all the evil anti-attacker of Europe during this period. When they got lost in the wilderness, Candid and his servants accidentally went into Eldorado. He soon saw the beauty of Eldorado. This country is cultivated in an equitable position to provide essentials of happiness and production. When they continued, they noticed that gold was everywhere, and people are not enthusiastic about it as elsewhere. They were eating at the hotel, being operated by the government, and being able to feed those who traveled, I was surprised that they do not need to pay. There is everything.
