Visiting the Memorial

The World War II Memorial marks 16 million people serving in the US military, more than 400,000 dead, and all those who support the civil war effort. The monument symbolizing the decisive event of the 20th century is a monument commemorating the spirit, sacrifice, dedication of the American people. World War II is the only 20 th century memorial event on the central axis of the National Mall.
