Violent Media Effects on Children

"Children's programs, especially comics, do 20 violent acts per hour" (Beresin, Eugene). Even if you are watching cartoon children, you will be exposed to violence directly in the real world. Violent media can confuse children and directly affect children's security. The media brings violence everywhere in the world, thereby hindering the infant from feeling safe. The sensitivity to other painful people is what most people have, but children exposed to violent media are beginning to lose their feelings.

The impact of violence (or other) media on children and young people depends on the age of the child concerned. As children face various developmental challenges, the media may have larger or smaller impacts, depending on the particular problem the child is facing at that time. Gentile & Sesma (2003) explains more detailed methods than possible methods here. However, the following example provided in this chapter may indicate a potential usage of this approach.

Violent media is an important part of American culture. In the United States there are billions-dollar industries specializing in the creation of violent media. Media usually has rating tags that are classified as being made for infants, teenagers or adults. Its purpose is to protect children from disturbing scenes and violent scenes drawn on the media. However, millions of children under the age of 17 still have free access to violent media. However, even though the child has that opportunity, the overall impact of violence against children is not negative.

Today's media of society has great influence on children. Very small children learn a lot when they are very young like violence. Many children learn violence, and they are exposed to very mature content, so they become violent and aggressive children. Many parents do not know what their children are watching, and they do not know that their children were raised by the media. - Many unacceptable situations and actions require stressors. Stress factors are situations and events that lead to catastrophic consequences such as genocide in Rwanda. Tension between Hutu and Tutsi already exists; it only needs something to reach that breakthrough - the source of stress. On April 6, 1994, the aircraft occupying Rwanda's President Juvenal Habyarimana and Burundi's President Cyprien Ntaryamina crashed due to unknown circumstances.
