Use of food to build community There is Mill Race Farmer's Market at 2 blocks from Goshen City Court on the corner of Washington Street. Some older members of the community may recall that this gray building is a furniture store following a mill or mill. The Alderson Community Food Center began construction of a new Alderson Community Garden across the Alderson Hospitality House in Alderson, West Virginia. The garden has highbed beds, sheds, supplies and water for the community. The purpose of this garden is to provide local people with the land and resources necessary to raise their own food. Sprouting Farms is pleased to support them in their journey as this new project is launched. All the staff at Sprouting Farms visited Morgantown, West Virginia and attended the WV Little Farm Conference. We participated in educational lectures on various topics such as beekeeping, food nutrition, farm insurance, farm practice, high tunnel construction etc. On the farm, we prepare an information sheet at the meeting that can convey the mission and plan of the emergence farm. We even even divided some of the recipe cards used in cooking classes!
