Use of Imagery in Daddy by Sylvia Plath

As a modern woman poet, Sylvia Plath has played a number of roles in her art: she is a fragile feminist, a confession, and a literary innovator. As a woman, the plasma found herself in one uncertain future alone with her past and the other foot, and she is currently two unpleasant combinations. She quickly lost hope with a desperate girl who is proud of her parents, a wife aspiring to please her husband, overwork, a depressed teenager, and a lonely, sick mother, and a lost father grown up.

Sylvia Plath 's poet' s father is not a dead father of her, but a fantasy poem, which is the image of her husband Ted Hughes' father. On October 12, 1962, after Sylvia Plath committed suicide, the father of this poem was written in Wikipedia. Almost all of Sylvia's poems were written in the latter part of the feminist fight of the 1960s and 1970s (Wikipedia / Feminism). The poem was published in a collection of poems under the headline "Ariel" submitted by her daughter Frith (p. 16). In her poem "Daddy", Plath supported the Holocaust to condemn the image of her husband and father, and lamented the father who died at the age of 8.

While reading Silvia 's poem "Daddy", the speaker probably became an adult after childhood, but later she tried to keep a distance from the dead father to kill her life. Using the image of the Holocaust will help the speaker to imagine her father as a bad man and it may help her deal with the extreme sorrow of his absence. "Dad, I passed away before time" (1028), because the speaker said that the father died around too young, it is not big enough to understand. At another level, the speaker also said that she should kill him. Remember, she had to kill him.
