US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)

Communities can use the evaluation system to encourage green buildings within commercial buildings, houses, or communities.

The LEED® score is scored 100 points and the credit is weighted to reflect its potential environmental impact. Ten compensation points are offered, four of which reward local specific environmental problems. The project must fulfill all the prerequisites and obtain the minimum certification point. Third-party certification is required

LEED evaluates projects based on the materials used and their sources, system design, structure, and efficiency, such as water, energy, air quality, lighting, acoustics, waste, transport. GSA uses the US Green Building Council (USGBC) Energy and Environmental Design Leadership (LEED®) Green Building Certification System as a tool to evaluate and measure sustainable design results. LEED® includes various prerequisites and credit limits, as well as specific requirements to earn points for acquiring LEED® certification. The GSA will use LEED® to ensure that sustainable strategies are taken into account when developing all GSA construction projects. The GSA needs at least a large renovation of federal property to acquire LEED® Gold.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) - It was created in 2000 by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to evaluate the green design of the US green building design and construction method. LEED is used in North America and more than 30 countries, currently more than 6,300 projects are globally certified and more than 21,000 projects are registered. As of September 2010, more than 35 state governments, 380 towns and 58 counties have developed sustainable laws, regulations or policies, many of which require LEED certification, among others.

Leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) is an evaluation system used to evaluate the design and environmental performance of buildings, houses, and communities. Energy and Environmental Design Leadership is a voluntary program that provides a framework for green building to identify and implement measurable design, construction, maintenance, and operational solutions. A noteworthy feature of LEED is that it can adapt to different building types. It measures nine major areas.
