URI Kids: World Religions

We hope that the information contained on these pages will be useful to introduce many religious and spiritual traditions of the world.

Religion is all or part of the following attributes. Religion varies according to people and culture. It is not just a formal religion but a spiritual aspect of that culture and group and it helps to define its spiritual tradition. This is particularly true for indigenous traditions in geographical areas.

Whether nonpersonal or personal, whether it can be named, how to interpret the highest power or absolute power

Ways of worshiping the creator, spiritual being, or spiritual leaders who are thought to give power to the world and people's lives, or how to gain respect and inspiration from spiritual leaders

Worship often includes sacred objects and images as a way for spiritual communities to connect with others.

Religion and other spiritual traditions often celebrate festivals and saints and special calendars showing important historical events in the development of religious, religious and spiritual traditions, including private and public worship and practice I'm waiting.

In this section we will try to introduce young people to the wonders and diversity of the world's religious and spiritual traditions. We will try to provide simple, direct and accurate information about the five major religions of the world and many other smaller religious and spiritual traditions. We are aware of the complexity and challenges of this work. Please feel free to contact us and make your suggestion
