For decades tourists and local people gathered in Southern California to find a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy all the amenities provided by the coastal climate. But despite the beautiful and wonderful atmosphere, many unexpected factors may alter your perception of the frequency of access to these beach locations. In the present state, many coastal areas around Orange County, California are susceptible to urban outflow, causing significant contamination on the waterfront.

Contamination, problems will affect us today as well. One of the most unknown reasons for marine pollution is urban outflow. Urban spill is often one of the main causes of marine pollution. In addition to pollutants contained in the outflow of rainwater, urban runoff itself is also considered to be the cause of pollution. Prior to development, most of the rainfall was sinking to the ground and contributing to groundwater recharge or was recycled to the atmosphere by evaporation. For example, about 75% of hazardous chemicals flow into Seattle and Washington's Puget Sound is robbed by rainwater flowing through paved roadways, private roads, roofs, gardens and other developed lands.

Effective management of urban runoff includes reducing the speed and flow of rainwater and reducing pollutant emissions. Local governments use various rainwater management techniques to reduce the impact of urban outflows. These technologies are known as Best Practices for Water Pollution Management (BMP) in the United States and may focus on water quality management, but others focus on improving water quality. Pollution prevention measures include development technology with less impact, green roof equipment, improved chemical processing (eg engine fuel and oil, fertilizer, pesticide management). Spill mitigation systems include infiltration basins, bioretention systems, artificial wetlands, protective basins, and similar devices.
