Upward Bound

Upward bound is a university preparatory course funded by the US Department of Education. The target high school student can receive counseling, counseling, and classroom guidance for entering the university. Academic services are offered weekly during the academic year. It also includes excursions to educational seminars and cultural, professional, educational and entertainment experiences. During the summer, students are going to attend residential school for 6 weeks. Students live in a student dorm for a week and then spend a weekend at home. Summer courses include classroom instruction, discussion groups, entertainment and cultural events, university visits and university admission assistance. Tuition is free. The US Department of Education and Western Oregon University will pay all fees. Students receive a small allowance for regular participation

Please complete and fill in the qualification application form and return it to the upward faculty member or school coordinator.

If qualified, the student will complete an upper application including documents, teacher's recommendations, and parental tax information.

Students are required to attend a weekly meeting / counseling session to prove participation in the program.

About Upward Bound Upward Bound is a program throughout the year, including a nine-year academic year and a six-week summer college.
