The US Secret Service (also called USSS or Secret Service) is a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security and conducts criminal investigations and protects the leaders of various countries. Until 2003, the service sector was part of the US Treasury because it was originally established to combat the spread of counterfeiting of the US currency. Research mission - The research mission of the USSS is to protect the payment and financial system of the US from various financial crimes and electronic crimes. Financial investigations include counterfeited US currency, bank and financial institution fraud, postal fraud, wire transfer fraud, illegal financing operations, and major conspiracy. Electronic surveys include cyber crime, network intrusion, identity theft, access device fraud, credit card fraud, intellectual property crime.
US Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Immigration Bureau and US Postal Inspection Service are responsible for prosecuting criminals who made credit card fraud in the United States. But they do not have the resources to find all the criminals. In a more common credit card network, three card security improvements have been made, but so far there is no evidence to help reduce credit card misuse. First, the card itself has been replaced by a tamper-resistant smart card of similar appearance designed to make forgeries more difficult. Most smart card (IC card) based credit cards conform to the EMV (Europay MasterCard Visa) standard. Next, most cards have an additional card security code (CSC) of 3 or 4 digits on the back for transactions with no cards present.
