Unemployment is one of the major economic problems. People looking for jobs or people who have been fired for over a week are considered unemployed. There are many reasons why people may lose their jobs. Three of these reasons are periodic, structural, and seasonal unemployment. The government is trying to find a solution to reduce unemployment by formulating policies

Cyclic unemployment is one of the causes of unemployment. When a person is in a cyclical unemployment situation, this means that income is confined to the economic situation, and there will be more work when the economy is in good condition, but available When the amount of employment decreases. In addition, when people spend less money they cause more reduction and unemployment. Therefore, this form of unemployment is usually temporary. As the economy grows, the periodic unemployment rate declines.

Structural unemployment is another cause of unemployment. As time goes by, changes in consumer demand can lead to industry growth, further industry decline, or complete closure of the industry. Even if jobs of industrial growth increase, jobs in other industries will diminish or disappear, for example, Atlantic Canada no longer requires shipbuilding. As a result, structural unemployment has led to unemployment in this area, because in some areas old industries can not attract new industries when closed.

Because the seasonal unemployment rate depends greatly on climate factors, it varies from Canada to Canada. In winter, fishing, construction and tourism are struggling in specific fields. However, demand for industries such as cleaning of snow will increase. Other examples of people who may be seasonally unemployed are agriculture, logging and so on. Those working in these industries usually work for 6 months, but when the industry is in the off season, the other six are unemployed.
