Privileges, rights or interests given to some people rather than others are terms that most people learn at a young age. Privileges are considered as people get and they are not given in daily life. Caucasian privilege is an advantage that white people have in society, this advantage is obtained free of charge, most of which are not recognized and are often practiced. Everyday life is made up of various "privileges", but they are not recognized because they are standards of society, and we are no longer aware of the existence of these "privileges".
The problem is not that some Caucasians do not understand "white privileges". The problem may be twice. First of all, they may not understand it with that particular name. I had never heard the word "white privilege" until a couple of years ago, but when I grew up in the South, I knew it when I saw that it was moving even if my eyes were closed. We recognize this concept when anyone in the US sees white privileges. Do not believe me? Please see 1 minute video of educator Jane Elliott.
Most of us lack a different "privilege". That's why many poor white people do not understand "white privileges". For most people, this term is always synonymous with economic advantage. This is not true, and we all should understand that privilege: a luck of draw - we are not asking, it is given automatically or given. Gender and skin color etc. Six years ago, some of us were lucky enough to know her before she suffered from devastating traumatic brain injury (TBI). And it broke the blood / brain barrier and destroyed it. In her central nervous system (CNS) department and virtual moment, she destroyed a positive, active, ambitious life she has built over the past 30 years.
Many Caucasians feel uncomfortable when Caucasian privileges are mentioned. They feel they were tried or attacked. That is a problem - no one says you have white privilege which is either bad or bad. Everyone understands that you are confronted with your own struggle and obstacles. You have a card that you deal with, and of course a bad card - but your card just makes you less susceptible to police violence. Even so, privilege is responsibility. I finally hope to balance the well-known competitive environment, but at the same time our white people need to learn to take responsibility for our privileges. There are several suggestions on how this can be done. Especially welcome the reader's opinion, especially if you lack my privilege above.
