Understanding the Stakeholders’ Expectations

One of my most challenging experiences happened in the first year of my consulting group. Our team has worked to support utility customers in evaluating specific business processes that are integrated between wholesale and retail divisions prior to the acquisition of private equity. For planned conflict, senior executives were appointed to manage the entire project part time. Because there is no dedicated project management office, communication between the client and the project team is declining rapidly.

First, it is important to maintain dialogue with stakeholders through the development process. By understanding and managing stakeholders' expectations, we can ensure the success of the final product in front of stakeholders and complement the importance of software security design and construction. Another element that runs throughout the SDLC is the need to enhance the traceability of demand. This ensures that all requirements (especially safety requirements) are tracked at all stages of the SDLC to prevent gaps. It can also be used as a guide to generate clear test purpose and case for all requirements. Traceability simplifies customer acceptance for the final product and is tested with all requirements fulfilled.

Stakeholders' expectation is that project management will actively review the results of the project. The way to meet these expectations is to select the right stakeholders, collect the requirements of those stakeholders, convert those requirements to some form of specification, and finally develop the project from that specification. Because communication is one of the effective elements for audience, some stakeholders have a big impact on the project. Management is addressing conscious communication among stakeholder groups that need to explain to unknown people. It will be difficult if important people in the project do not receive information about the project. There are two ways to communicate. One is formal communication and the other is informal communication.

In many cases, the stakeholders of the project have conflicts of interest. Understanding these discrepancies and trying to solve them is the responsibility of the project manager. This is also an expectation for the project manager to manage stakeholders. In the early stages of the project, identify all key stakeholders and understand all their needs and constraints. The project manager is like a politician. In many cases, they do not have the ability or ability to force their colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers directly their will. Like politicians, if they want their own way of doing, they must effectively influence others. In projects, project managers can hardly directly manage, so the ability to influence others and become an excellent politician is very important.
