UN honours Mamata Banerjee for Kanyashree Prakalpa

In honor of the project "Kanyashree Prakalpa", the United Nations awarded the West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee the Best Public Service Award.

Founded in 2011, Kanyashree Prakalpa is a conditional cash transfer program aimed at educating girls and giving power.

According to "India Times", Kanyashree Prakalpa won this award for reaching out effectively to a group that is poorly disadvantaged.

The Prime Minister also emphasized her plan to achieve the goal of sustainable development through other innovative tools and programs by 2030.
