Type of Genre

"Briton Hammon" Briton Hammon's confinement story is a prominent African-American prose published in North America. His life is limited to the information in his story. While reading his essay, he still can not tell whether he is a servant or a slave. In his story, he tries to explain the life of Africa and how he associates with the public domain and uses the opportunity he has.

Create: Copy (or print, save, link, or scan) two types of genres for the same question or topic. I will explain the concept of genre, how to identify various types, and characteristics of one genre and another genre. To start this process, you create a matrix that shows the differences and similarities using four types of analysis areas (Difference, Content, Structure, and Style / Language).

To prepare you three different types, you will do some research on these types. Once you identify the three types to write, find three types of EACH types for a total of nine examples. We spend the day at the library to see examples you may need. Once you have an example, create annotated bibliography for each example. Your annotated reference provides your example publication information and uses this example to summarize your type understanding. (See Everyday Writer, page 145 for an example.) Explain this issue further and practice writing annotated bibliographic items in class.

Type is a way to classify literature. The type means "good" or "type" in French. Type can refer to literary categories such as tragedy, comedy, epic, poetry, idyll.
