Two Associations with the Unencumbered Self

Of the two relationships with self without constraints, an unrelated self separates me from my attributes and desires. Rawls encountered unrestrained self in proposing the principle of ignorance veil and the difference; both separated subject matter from the subject attribute and the end. Rolls denies that utilitarianism and liberalism are practical solutions and proposes the veil of the principle of ignorance and discrepancy as a third option. In this article, I will briefly introduce what Sandel regards as unconstrained.

As Michael Sundel pointed out in "Dissatisfaction of Democracy", Rawls' opinion "gained most of the moral power from appealing his self-motivating self-image." Without the constraints of goals and accessories, Sundel acknowledges that he has not selected for himself. "It can be a vision of a powerful liberation." Our public political pursuit For all purposes, we will be regarded as "a source of self-assertion." It does not explain the moral, political obligation we generally recognize, even even the rewards. This is an autonomous and completely self-defined self challenge. Perhaps there is an obligation to achieve what we did not choose, such as nature, purpose given by God, or our identity as a member of family, country, culture. It is a tradition. Such restricted identity is inconsistent with the concept of free and independent self by free people and must be regarded as an unacceptable attack based on institution for political purposes.
