More than 30 years ago, I pledged to the Tumaga River; we are still the blood and life of my Zamboangenos compatriots. Late in the afternoon, the stone I threw a stone in the middle of the river responded to my promise before. I am hoping that the river will always look like what I saw when I was 6 years old. These are just a few of the myriad childhood promises I did. Whenever I think that this river of death is a vibrant colorful happy river, it reminds me still.

Arthur Phillips, the first governor of the Australian colony that was explored in 1789, was named after Baron Hawksbury (later Liverpool's second generation).
