Trying to Live up to Media Stereotypes

Everyone in the U.S. can access some form of media, whether they are watching ads on TV or watching ads on computers. People see advertisements every day. Most people do not think too much about looking at advertisements. Most people will find that products are about to sell. But what people did not noticed was basic information on advertisements. Then the infant touches all different types of advertisements and understands that they should grow up to fit the fixed ideas of sex.

Stereotypes are learned from families, friends, and the media from an early age. A common stereotype in American culture and media is that African-Americans are "criminals". The origins of this stereotype can be traced back to the American reconstruction era. African Americans have withstood many slaves, beliefs, racial inequalities and many other difficulties. They were treated inhumane by white racists, were unjustly killed, lynched and beaten. "Driving a car" in the media treats African-American stereotypes as criminals, and this stereotype is used as a reason to abuse them. Today, African Americans account for nearly 1 million of the imprisoned population of 3 million, the number of people imprisoned is about six times that of whites, according to a report by the National Coloring Race Improvement Association.

Images of African American media changed the way of life of black society of today. Because of lack of knowledge and being blinded by the media, we succumbed to the image that African American competition does not appear in the community. These African American stereotypes used in the media today and a few years ago are hurting the true image of the black people and their view on African Americans and Caucasian African heritage. Gender, class and racial stereotype in American media In modern society, we have abundant gender, class and ethnic stereotypes, as we have done through the history of mankind.
