Gentle roads and beautiful scenery make Cuba an ideal country for cycling. It is not suitable for hiking in Cuba, so you have to bring your own bicycle. You should not borrow a bicycle in Cuba (Havana El Orbe). The majority of the way in Cuba is reasonable, but carrying carryover mountain bikes may still be a good idea. Mountain biking is more powerful, you can drive offroad cars better. Remember to carry all the spare parts you might need with you as they are not available in Cuba. Since casas particulares can be used in relatively small towns, planning a trip is easy. Food on the road can usually get cheap Cuban Peso on site, but please make sure that you are carrying enough food (and water!) Through more remote areas. Getting bottled water outside the big city is a clear problem.
