I argue that utilitarianism is a rational ethical theory to prove that it is responsible for paying moral consideration to sentient beings, in this case non-human animals. Under exploitistic criteria I explain that non-human animals are certainly perceptual, which is enough to count as a moral position. I will keep my views on the examples commonly used in the processing of animal resources, such as experiments in food and laboratories. This proves that an act that failed to treat an animal as an ethical person would infringe on the rights of that animal and therefore are not morally acceptable.
