Multinational Community Literacy: Exploring the Franklin Elementary School's Environment The communities around Franklin Elementary School contain a very diverse population of ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic status. However, as I was walking around the community, I was shocked by how similar the community is to the typical mainstream suburbs community. The environment around Franklin Elementary School, just 3.2 km from Brigham Young University campus, belongs to an average-sized housing, wide street, church, traffic lights, traffic signs, gas stations, other typical American communities.

At elementary schools in Tatem, Central, Elizabeth Haddon, consider the possibility of implementation of the school-based family literacy program, One Elementary School One Book project created by Read to Them, to improve the literacy rate of elementary schools in this area doing. Its mission is to share reading experiences across the school community and encourage families to read high quality children's novels at home together. This project aims to gather parents, teachers, and students throughout the community by choosing a book to read the course for two months. Each home, faculty and staff member and staff of a local primary school receive a new copy of the novel for the same child and will read the book at the same time.
