For many people, these areas are known as jungles because of the large volume of vegetation found. Tropical rainforests are located in the tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) in the equatorial region. These forests are in Central and South America, West and Central Africa, and Southeast Asia. Other places include small islands in the Pacific.

Forest destruction is a problem that is getting worse in today's world, especially the Amazon rainforest. Peru is the fourth largest tropical rainforest in the world, accounting for nearly 60% (70 million hectares). Unfortunately, the Peruvian deforestation rate is between 0.35% and 5.5%, decreasing by approximately 250,000 hectares annually. The deforestation in Peru is mainly due to self-sufficiency agriculture by immigrant farmers using the law of illegal occupants, so if citizens can prove to live for five years, citizens can get public land . However, more deforestation is caused by legal and illegal logging, mining, oil drilling and road development.
