Towards Mobile Augmented Reality for the Elderly

We conducted a user survey to evaluate the availability of mobile AR applications for the elderly (a). As a result, it was found that it is difficult for the elderly to hold the tablet for a long time, so we tested whether it can be replaced with a head mounted display (b). We also propose an improved AR user interface (c) for tablets that does not require ongoing equipment maintenance. Mobility and independence are important aspects of the world's self-determining life, and changes in demographics have brought the challenge of maintaining these aspects of population aging.

Augmented reality and proxy reality put virtual / fictitious assets in the real world. Augmented reality places virtual graphic assets in the real world using virtual devices (head mounted displays or handheld devices). Surrogacy is a fictitious overlay that depends on imagination and important assets. So far, it is assumed that the generated stories and interactive stories work in a virtual graphical environment or in the minds of viewers. There are few restrictions on what can happen with these stories. The real world imposes restrictions on the content of the generated story, as it needs to interact with real world places and real world objects.

Augmented Reality I will briefly introduce this part. Depending on who you talk to, it may be a subcategory of mixed reality or the same thing. One of the core strengths of today's augmented reality is that it can move with normal movement. You can experience augmented reality anywhere, anywhere, and games like Pokemon Go clearly design their mechanisms to promote real world exploration. However, many augmented reality platforms currently lack the ability for users to interact with digital content in a complex way and are included in small field of view (FOV) and screens (such as screens for mobile phones or tablets) .

With the Augmented Reality (AR) technology, people can add digital assets to their physical environment. As a good example of augmented reality, think about the popular popular game Pokemon Go that was popular in the beginning of 2017. With the help of your mobile phone you can "see" Pokemon near you by turning the camera around you. You can enhance your reality by stacking Pokemon around you and you can talk to Pokemon on your cell phone. Augmented reality is a pioneer of a more immersive virtual reality (VR) experience, and now focuses on games and entertainment. Today, you can buy headphones like Oculus and you can "live" by virtual reality simulation. It is a completely immersive environment that allows users to interact with the virtual world.
