Tourism and poverty reduction: theory and practice in less economically developed countries

In this paper, we analyze the evolution of tourism development theory and practice in economically undeveloped countries (LEDC) aiming at poverty reduction. It critically reviews the two early themes in the field: structure and power relations between global and local communities as well as community based tourism projects. This paper considers the potential advantages of LEDC tourism development and summarizes the development of many new subject areas. We then reviewed the special issue of sightseeing and poverty reduction in the sustainable tourism journal, develop institutional strategies and approaches, preserve governance and biodiversity, assess the impact of tourism and value chain analysis, and cross-sectoral We explored the four themes of connection. (1) the use of new technologies to measure the impact on tourism, (2) the development of the role of institutional governance and management practices, and (3) methods of impeding unfair power relations and weak governance efforts (4) the importance of private sector business practices for poverty reduction, (5) the value of interdisciplinary quantitative and qualitative research tools, and (6) the need for association between academic research and practitioner intervention sex.

The practice of community development is in a proper position to ensure that the poor are involved in the poverty reduction process and that tourism is an important policy tool. Private companies have complex relationships with private enterprises, including international companies, state-owned enterprises, and countless local tourism companies.
