Total number of institutions in 1961, author Erving Goffman published a book that included text and research on psychiatric patients and prisoners he called "whole body." Since he has long studied at an American institution, he emphasizes the lives of people with mental illness. But my reading center is based on the institution and lifestyle achieved when they were placed in these places. When describing these agencies, the author calls them an isolated community.
The two types of institutions defined in the field of anthropology are general agencies and social institutions. The overall organization is a place to fully adjust the behavior of personnel, examples of the overall institution include prisons, monasteries and hospitals. On the other hand, the social system is a mechanism that regulates the daily lives of individuals, such as relatives, religious beliefs, and economics. Institutional anthropology can analyze unions from small to medium enterprises, government, medical institutions, educational institutions, prisons, and financial institutions. To alleviate social problems, non-governmental organizations can specialize in the field of institutional anthropology because they can play a role that was previously ignored by the government or was previously being carried out by families and local groups. It evoked interest.
The whole institution is one of the subjects of socialization. Throughout the organization, that person is fully managed by those who fully manage their lives. They forced people to change their behavior and self-concepts through the structure of strict sleep, work, entertainment. All their daily needs are organized and they are attacked by personal dignity. These aims are to observe the rules of the system, keep it, and make those who obey. In many cases rituals of declining society are used to help the socialization process. This is an act of depriving individuals' identity and self-image, rebuilding according to institutional norms.
