Tone, Theme, and Symbolism in Boy at the Window” by Richard Wilbur

As explained in Chapter 10, the poet strongly depends on sound effects and selects words that emphasize not only the sound but also the particular sound (tone) that you want the reader to perceive (Clugston, 2010).
