The method used in psychology research is used to obtain quantitative or qualitative data. Quantitative data is usually obtained from methods such as experiments, statistical data using surveys, questionnaires, and interviews for analyzing data. Qualitative data is not aimed at finding accurate measurements from the results but focuses on the collection and analysis of evidence by practices such as observation and ethnography (observation by participating in long-term activities) (Brownlow 2011).
Psychological statistics apply equations, theorems, numbers, and laws to psychology. Statistical methods of psychology include the development and application of statistical theory and psychological data modeling techniques. These methods include psychometric methods, factor analysis, experimental design, and multivariate behavioral research. This article also discusses the same field journal Wilcox, R. (2012) Psychometric measurements include measurement of psychological attributes. It includes the development and application of psychometric statistical models (such as Lord and Novik). Measurement theory is divided into two main areas: (1) classical test theory; (2) project response theory (Nunnally, J. & Bernstein, I. (1994))
Series - Humor theory in applied psychology and linguistics. The methods used to analyze humor are humorous psychology (social behavior, psychoanalysis and recognition) and humorous linguistic theories (SSTH and GTVH). There are three discoveries. First, low level ambiguities or contradictions are evaluated as low from the viewpoint of their interest, while ambiguity or contradiction of high language level is evaluated to be more interesting. Secondly, the language device being used is not ambiguous or tuned. Third, language devices are not enough to understand humor; it needs to be psychological. Part 4 is Alexandre (2013) on "Interesting comments, sad context: literary and linguistic humor analysis in Kurt Vonnegt's novel". This is a humorous study using literary analysis (related humor and subject) and language analysis (GTVH) of Vonnegut's novel Cat Cradle, Slaughterhouse Five, Deadeye Dick.
Principles of quantitative methods for psychological data analysis Topics include basic (eg, relevance, reliability, effectiveness analysis, t-test) and advanced (eg, logistic regression, Factor analysis) data analysis methods are included. This course is designed to strengthen rather than replacing the knowledge of quantification methods obtained in undergraduate courses. Emphasize the theoretical foundation and applied application so that students can select the appropriate quantitative method, analyze the data, and report the results according to American Psychological Association criteria.
