Leadership is defined as the process by which an individual influences others to achieve a goal. There are three aspects that you need to address when explaining leadership. One aspect is that leadership is a social impact process and leadership can not exist without a leader and one or more fans. Another aspect of leadership is compliance; instructions from all leaders must be observed spontaneously. Compliance is the difference between influential leadership and other formal powers. Finally, the leader must produce intentional, target-oriented follower behavior and be in some organized environment (Leadership Theory and Research, 2009).
