Thomas Moran

One of the most famous parks in the United States is Yellowstone. Thomas Moran is one of the most famous landscape painters. What does this place have in common with people? Well, if it was not Thomas Moran, then Yellowstone Park will not be a national park. Thomas Moran's art was under the influence of nature in the early romantic era. Thomas was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England in 1837 and brought to the United States (Ency.Bio.Vol.11). He received primary education at the Philadelphia Public School and then signed a contract with a woodcarving company from 1853 to 1856.

Thomas Moran was born with two looms in Bolton, Lancashire in 1837. The rapid industrialization of Britain in the 19th century immediately mechanized the weaving process and forced the unemployment of Thomas Moran's parents when the family moved to Kensington (Philadelphia) in the suburbs of Philadelphia. At the age of sixteen, Thomas Moran became the apprentice of Philadelphia's wood carving company Scattergood & Telfer. Whether it is a watercolor painter or an illustrator, it was in this position that he drew seriously and started drawing seriously. Thomas Moran was the first American painter to capture the magnificent Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Born in the UK, he immigrated as a child to America and was an apprentice to Philadelphia. Moran's turning point occurred in 1871 when joining the Hayden Expedition, the first exploration to investigate the Yellowstone Region. Moran's dramatic valleys, hot springs and geyser images attracted the imagination of the American masses and helped Yellowstone become the first national park in the United States. The work of Thomas Moran was immediately linked to the Yellowstone area. After returning from his trip, Moran was called Thomas "Yellowstone" Moran. He joined another investigation in 1874. The painting he made with this and other expeditions became the center of the natural definition of the landscape protection movement of the 19th century. Until Moran painted the Yellowstone area and made his sketch vivid, American citizens could not believe the miracle report. When Moran captured the imagination of the country with his majestic picture and unobstructed scenery, he for the first time integrated one of the national treasures of that area. Although they may not go to these wonders themselves, Americans' generations are urged to be proud of the wild spaces in the west.
