This One Summer

This summer is a graphic novel written by Mariko Tamaki, interpreted by Jillian Tamaki and published by First Second Books in 2014. This is a story about two young friends, Rose and Windy, a summer cock, a small beach town. Mariko Tamaki found Awaji town in a place in her house in Canada. [1]

Every summer, Rose will come to Awago's cottage, and as long as she can remember, she will meet her summer friend Windy. [18] Rosbygay about 18 months is a narrator of the story. [3] Kirkus commented: "Jillian and Maryko are successfully portraying adolescent girls" [4] This summer we received the 2015 Printz Honor and Caldecott Honor Awards. [5] I also won the 2015 Eisner Award and the 2014 Ignatz Outstanding Graphic Novel Award. According to the New York Times news coverage, this book is a graphic novel, a nice book for fans of adult stories with more complex themes.

In 2016, the Minnesota and Florida libraries removed them from the bookshelf this summer after their parents complained about the use of the book's cunning and mature theme. After the incident in Florida in February, Mariko Tamaki says "It is classified as a reader of 12 to 18 years old" and "Includes stories of young people talking about adults." But she said that I think this is an important book for young people. The National Anti-Census Alliance challenged the removal of the library. [7]

The work of Tamaki Mariko includes the Young Adult Essay (which saves Montgomery only with you) and graphic novels (Skim and This Summer, both Jillian Tamaki). This summer, art is as powerful as essay. And they work amazingly together to incorporate the concern and trauma of rose summer at Awago Beach. The wonderful summer of the beach is full of endless heavy rain, both of which help maintain the green bushes of beautiful trees, grapes, bushes, grasses, towata and surrounding forests. And then, there is a summer night sky filled with the moonlight which is eye-catching with stars. The details of the beach, the lake, the forest and even the Brewster convenience store are breathtaking and are in stark contrast to less detailed characters. The story and art are richly conveyed and juxtaposed to provide extraordinary depth and presence for the story and its realistic personality.
