Since the initial development and establishment of drama education in the 1960s, the drama education industry / sports has undergone a rapid change. However, its origin is mainly at the beginning of the last century. Initially established companies include Scotland's Bertha Waddell and Esme Church in the northern part of the UK, which established the main roots of TIE. Primarily, the initial goal of these companies was to stimulate, educate and inform young people by encouraging young people to participate in pleasant and imaginative drama programs.

Educational theater (TIE) began in England in 1965. Monica Pregast and Juliana Saxton called TIE "one of the two historical roots of applied theater practice". TIE usually includes a theater company that operates in a youth educational environment (ie, a school), including the moment of interaction and performance. The idea of ​​having a strong influence-centered influence on a particular target school audience is very popular. Because there are few audiences, students are encouraged to participate through the roles and tackle the discussion. Student experiments are supported through teacher materials and training, or support to students.

The TIOS event is led by the American Theater and Education Alliance (AATE), the Education Theater Association (Edta), and the International Theater Association (ITS). TIOS event: a localization event designed to celebrate school drama education. In the local event program, it is targeted to small and professional participants related to drama education. AATE works closely with the chairperson / organizer of the event, but it does not provide financial assistance according to the policies set by the Board. TIOS Celebration: We celebrate the school's theatrical education and co-host with the sister organization (EdTA, ATHE, TYA-USA etc.) to explore. Regional events are designed to attract a wide range of participants. AATE does not provide financial or programmatic assistance for the event in accordance with the specific policies set by the Board. AATE will help promote and promote events and provide access to TIOS marketing materials as needed. Participants may or may not pay registration fees.
