Cartwright outlines the existence conditions of Britain in the beginning of the 14th century and is investigating the influence of the plague on the changes of social, political and economic systems that occurred over centuries . He also discussed the cause, occurrence and extinction of the plague in detail and revealed the myth that it had disappeared in the UK in the fire in London in 1666.
