Algren Nelson and HonoréDeBalzac may have come from different times, but they are considered to be great writers. Their books share one thing in common and give the reader a deeper understanding of the time and certain places. These authors' books allow viewers to see life from different perspectives and understand ways to get rid of poverty. Both Nelson and Balzac have similar plots dealing with troubles and dilemmas by money. Although their books are fictitious, these stories are very real, as Nielsen and Balzac lived in their books and experienced a similar struggle.
I like to read books on how writers become writers. Like a prodigious genius: The life and age of Honore De Balzac by Noel B. Gerson (my own 325 books). Gerson's book on Balzac is my favorite book on writers and his way. I did not want to read Balzac's books in French like Emil Zola's La Terre. However, I visited Balzac 's grave at Pere Lachaise Cimetiere and restricted the intake of caffeine. I like Raymond Chandler's life by Frank McShane of the classical genre. Chandler is the accountant of Dabni Oil Company in Los Angeles. Chandler was forbidden to drink alcohol and found himself drifting when he was 44 years old. His wife, Xi Xi, is 62 years old. They have no money. So Chandler taught himself to write a pulp novel to pay the rent. He wrote seven detective stories, even though a small family thought it was literature.
