This is a very theoretical history and I do not know if I am fully influenced by Jared's claim. He compared various historical backgrounds, ignoring some important issues. The first one will appear in this particular text:

I think Jared Diamond is an excellent historian, but his theory is not convincing. Indeed they will help explain why some people are trying to conquer other people (for those who read guns, bacteria and steel), but they really appreciate the points of technological progress I will not let it. If I find "short advances" of Ronald Wright (because it is not sinister) the reason why we are tired of technology is more convincing.
