Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) is one of the most concentrated and most open economies in the world and faces long-term economic problems. Because of years of poor investment, lack of spare parts, and inadequate maintenance, industrial capital stock is almost unrepairable. Large military expenditure and development of ballistic missiles and nuclear programs have greatly reduced the resources needed for investment and private consumption. Industrial and electricity production has been stagnant for many years, and it is only a part of before 1990. Frequent crop injuries related to the weather are caused by sustained systematic problems including shortage of arable land, collective agricultural practices, poor soil quality, poor fertilization and ongoing tractor and fuel shortage Exacerbate food shortages

From the mid-1990s until the middle of the 2000s, there was serious famine and extensive hunger. The international community provided large amounts of food aid by 2009. Since then, food aid has dramatically declined. In the past few years domestic corn and rice production has improved, but domestic production does not fully meet demand. The majority of the population continues to suffer from chronic malnutrition and poor living conditions. Since 2002, the government has allowed North Koreans to partially compensate for the decline in the distribution of public distribution systems, allowing the commencement of the sale of a wider range of items in the quasi-private market. Also, we changed the public farm management process to increase agricultural production.

The North Korean government continues to emphasize the goal of improving the overall living standard, but little measures have been taken to achieve this goal. In 2016, the administration used two large mobilizers - a total of 70 days and an additional 200 days - to stimulate the rapid increase in population and the completion of construction projects. The administration announced a five-year economic development strategy in May 2016. Strong political control is still the government's greatest concern and it may interfere with the official change in North Korea's current economic system.

Today: Insufficient economic management of the government, including land redistribution plans that began in 2000, pitted the country. According to the CIA World Profile, the inflation rate in 2005 is 585%, the inflation rate in 2006 is close to 1000%. The number of whites in that country fell below 1% of the population. Today: due to the ongoing economic crisis in Zimbabwe, many church schools the government took over after independence were sent back to the church. Christian schools, most of which are operated by the Roman Catholic Church, account for one-third of the schools in that country.

"Profile" has demographics, geography, communication, government, economics, and military profiles on pages 2 and 3 including 266 countries certified in the United States, dependencies, and other countries. "World Profile" was created by the Central Intelligence Agency for use by senior US government officials, its style, form, scope, and content are designed primarily to fulfill its requirements. However, it is often used as a resource for student papers, Web sites, and non-government publications. As a job of the US government, it belongs to the public domain.

An official printing version is available from the government printing office. Other companies like Skyhorse Publishing also printed a paper version. Factbooks are available as websites and are updated weekly. You can download it and use it offline. It provides demographics, geography, communications, government, economics, and military profiles on 2 to 3 pages. This includes 267 international organizations, including US accredited countries, dependencies, and other regions.
